The investigation of sustainability and the CO2 footprint of precast concrete is of central importance in the construction industry. Although the production of concrete is traditionally associated with high CO2 emissions, current research shows that precast concrete inherently has sustainable aspects, particularly through its efficiency in production, the use of local resources, and its durability. The research focuses on further optimizing these positive characteristics and introducing innovative methods to further reduce the ecological footprint of precast concrete.
